At Niche we envision a Pilates Instructor Training Education program that provides an opportunity for students to immerse themselves in movement education. Our mission is to provide students with a breadth of knowledge that introduces exercise and movement history as well as dives deep into the education of Pilates principles and Pilates movement.
Our program fosters the development of students’ ability to recognize proper form and alignment, utilizing a cueing style that gives clients precise direction while allowing the instructor's personality to shine.
NICHE Mat Pilates I & II Instructor Training
MAT PILATES INSTRUCTOR TRAINING DATES
Mat I: June 22nd and 23rd 10am-4pm
Mat II: July 13th and 14th 10am-4pm
Test Out Dates: September 6th and 7th 12-5pm
If participants dedicate 8-10 hours per week they can finish all requirements by Sept
MAT PILATES I & II PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS
Attend all Mat Pilates I & II training dates in person or virtually on Zoom
Download and read the training materials
Complete all of the Comprehensive Movement Foundation + Anatomy online training course videos
Attend all instructor training dates in person or via Zoom (dates listed below)
Complete 10 Self Study Hours
Complete 10 Observation Hours
Complete 20 Personal Practice Hours
Complete 45 Practice Teaching Hours
Submit and receive verification of hour accumulation documentation
Pass all quizzes with 85% accuracy
Schedule, complete, and pass the test out for your Certification consisting of a Written exam, 30 minute teaching demonstration, 30 minute practical

Niche Instructor Training was founded by Niche Pilates Studio Owner and Founder Jaclyn Forrester in 2021. The Niche Instructor Program has evolved over the past 4 years. Jaclyn believes in keeping education up to date, modern, and applicable to students. The Instructor Trainers work alongside Jaclyn to create, facilitate, and evolve the training program.

Do I need previous movement instructor experience?
No, you do not need previous experience teaching movement to join the program
Do I need to be in Richmond, VA to take the course?
No, our program can be done virtually including the test out
Do I need to sign up for both Mat I & Mat II?
Yes, in order to complete your Mat Certification with Niche, you will need to pass both Mat I & Mat II to receive your certification
How much is the training for Mat Pilates I & II?
The training is $450 each, $900 total. The test out is a separate fee of $300
How can I complete my observation hours at Niche?
Niche offers a package for the 10 required observation hours for $150
Does the training have practice teaching time in front of the instructor trainers for live feedback?
Yes, within our training program agenda we leave for each participant to practice teach the group with live feedback.
How do I schedule my test out for the certification?
Our education coordinator will send out a sign up form and link to purchase your test out.
