We offer a dynamic variety of class styles and services so you can experience the magic of Pilates in all its forms! Whether you're looking for something calming yet energizing, or a class that builds strength and leaves you feeling empowered, we have options to support each individual goal and movement preference.
Mat Pilates
MOVE MAT combines the core principles of Pilates with contemporary sequences to create a fluid class that invigorates every muscle group. This is an excellent class for all levels as the instructor is focused on offering a range of modifications for each exercise. Props such as the Pilates ring, ball, bands, and yoga block are incorporated into class plans.
ENDURANCE MAT is a high-energy, full-body workout designed to go beyond traditional Pilates, focusing on cardiovascular and muscular endurance to leave you feeling strong and invigorated. Dumbbells are always used in an Endurance Mat class, in addition to other props such as Pilates ring, ball, bands, and yoga block.
MAT CIRCUIT blends Pilates and strength-training principles for an engaging and challenging workout. Expect to use the full range of props (Pilates ring, ball, bands and yoga block) while moving through four stations, three times each.
Reformer Pilates
BEGINNER classes focus on the basics of the reformer. The class begins by going over nomenclature and parts of the reformer and covers basic moves that leave you feeling comfortable with the nature of the moving carriage and unstable surface. We recommend that every first-timer take a beginner class or book a private session with one of our instructors. The class emphasizes controlled movements, proper breathing techniques, and individualized adjustments to ensure safe and effective practice.
REFORMER FLOW is Niche’s original class format, designed to focus on strength, flexibility, and balance. The class flows seamlessly from one sequence to the next, incorporating props such as the box, ball, and ring. Clients should expect a balanced combination of effort and ease in this workout. Instructors are adept at providing modifications and amplifications for each movement type so that class fits all levels.
POWER FLOW offers a full-body workout with a focus on faster transitions, ensuring a continuous and challenging flow of movements. Expect to be engaged in creative Reformer exercises that elevate your heart rate. Props are used to make moves more challenging, and while the movements can be modified to accommodate your unique needs, we recommend that you take at least four flow classes before attending power flow.
REFORMER STRENGTH is perfect for anybody that is looking to marry their strength training routine with the support and flow of the Pilates reformer. A dumbbell (or two!) is used in each Strength class, as well as increased resistance without sacrificing Niche’s signature flow. We recommend that you have taken 10 Reformer classes prior to attending Reformer Strength.
PILATES APPARATUS
TOWER classes offer a personalized, small-group experience with a maximum of three participants. Using a stationary base similar to an elongated mat, the tower incorporates springs, straps, and bars, mechanisms also found on the Pilates reformer and Cadillac, to create a unique, full-body workout. Clients should expect to sit, stand, and lie down during a tower class, utilizing the entire apparatus and various props. The aim is to keep the movement of all springs as smooth as possible and focus on controlled and precise movements. This class is perfect for all levels and anyone looking to deepen their pilates practice.
CADILLAC, CHAIR, BARREL classes provide a focused and effective workout in a small group setting, limited to just 3 participants. In this class type, clients will move from the 3 pieces of Pilates apparatus equipment (Cadillac, Chair, and Barrel) for an athletic and fast-paced workout that will elevate the heart rate and focus on building strength. Expect props and weights to be integrated in the sequences. We recommend having at least 10 Reformer classes or prior reformer experience before joining.
Private & Semi-Private Sessions
PRIVATE SESSIONS & SEMI-PRIVATE SESSIONS are one-to-one or two-to-one 50-minute sessions. The instructor begins by discussing your movement goals, then offers a workout tailored to your unique needs. Private and semi-private sessions are perfect for clients who want to familiarize themselves with the equipment before attending a group class, those that are recovering from injury (after being cleared by a doctor or physical therapist), or those that are simply looking for more tailored attention. Private sessions can be conducted on the mat, reformer, or any apparatus equipment.
PRIVATE GROUP CLASSES
PRIVATE GROUP CLASSES can be conducted for any of our class formats listed above for any private friends, family, or team events. Private group classes can be perfect for:
- Bridal showers 
- Birthday events 
- Sorority/college clubs 
- Theater cases/dance companies 
- Company team buildings 
- Family and friends 
- Athletic teams 
There are multiple ways to experience private group classes, including Tower and CCB. Celebrate your special day or build stronger bonds with your team at Niche, and extend your gathering by convening outside on either of our patio spaces before and after class!
FAQs
Where should I start?
At Niche, our classes are designed to create an open and inclusive environment that celebrates both classical contemporary Pilates across an array of class styles. If you’re new to Pilates, we suggest the following classes: Move Mat, Beginner Reformer (every Saturday at 11:30am), or a private session.
If you’re familiar with Pilates but haven’t been to Niche before, we suggest the following classes: Move Mat or Endurance Mat, Reformer Flow or Power Flow, Tower, or Cadillac, Chair, Barrel.
If you usually enjoy strength training or something similar but want to try Pilates, we suggest: Reformer Strength, Endurance Mat, Tower, or Cadillac, Chair, Barrel.
What can I expect for my first class?
1. The entrance to Niche is located on Plum St. If you need parking, a parking lot is available on the NW corner of Main St. and Plum St., across from Beauvine Burger Concept. Street parking is also available around the studio!
2. You will be greeted at the front desk and checked in by our Client Experience Team. They will help give you a quick rundown of the studio and our policies then direct you to our class and where to place your belongings!
3. Before the start of class, you will be introduced to your instructor, who will check in with you about any existing injuries, questions, or concerns. If you are taking a Reformer class, they will walk you through the equipment and provide safety guidelines when using the equipment.
4. Towards the end of class, you will be offered a cool lavender towel you can use during stretching. We recommend placing this on your forehead, neck, or whatever feels best to cool you off after your hard work!
5. After class, we have water and tea in the lobby that you are welcome to! Our Client Experience Team will then check in and can answer any questions!
WHEN SHOULD I ARRIVE?
We allow a 5-minute grace period for returning clients. If you are new to Niche, please arrive 10 minutes prior to your class. This allows time for our Client Experience Team to check you in and walk you through studio policies and for our instructors to get to know you before class starts!
Do I need to bring my own mat?
We provide mats (and mat covers for you). However, if you prefer to bring your own, that’s absolutely welcome.
What is your cancellation policy?
If you are unable to make it to class, we request that you cancel 10 hours prior to the class start time to allow for other clients on the waitlist to book that class. Cancellations past those 10 hours will result in loss of credit.
